Back in 2014 it was a seventies A frame on the lake, a couple of speakers, and whoever could fit in the living room. Nobody called it a festival. It was just the best night of the winter.
12 years later it's 2,500 people over a weekend in downtown Kelowna, and it's still homegrown. We run our own marketing, shoot our own content, and book the acts we'd want to see ourselves.
Still the best weekend of the winter.
Friday
February 26
Friday opens on house and moves into bass as the night goes on, through UK garage and bass into dubstep by the end. The Wardrobe, our side room, is stacked with local DJs all night, its own sound and a real contrast to the main floor. Live art goes up through the night.
Saturday
February 27
Saturday starts as an all ages house day party from 2 to 8pm, so bring the kids. The main stage opens on house in the afternoon, then the night goes 19+ and gets deeper and darker into dark tech. The Wardrobe is heavy on local talent again, a full lineup of local DJs from open to close and a different room to the main stage. Live art runs the whole time.
Fireside is 2,500 people over 2 days who dress up, stay for hours and tell their friends about it after. That's a pretty good room to be in.
